Listary Beta (4.00.1156) is available

@miked

The file name will change during this process, but it should be restored to the original one if you select a folder or press ESC to hide search results.

Is this happening occasionally or always reproducible on your machine?

Could it be possible to move the toolbar buttons to the left side of the bar?

I request this because I would like to see the list of searched items on the right side of the toolbar to be able to display the xplorer2’s active panel file list. I think that it is better to hide the inactive panel than the active one.

Listary 3 and Xplorer2

Listary 4 and Xplorer2

Could the default menu buttons be recovered when they are deleted?

Channing said: Yes. Go to Listary Options - Menus, click “Reset Menus” on top (next to the dropdown menu).

But I will lose my personalized “Smart Commands” after the reset.

Channing said: No. I personally don’t like to mix keyboard search with mouse clicks.

But will the scroll buttons that appear when there are lots of search results be available again? They are really useful to scroll up and down just by holding the mouse over them.

And another thing: After deleting all the characters of the search box the list is still visible and it seems like Listary is trying to load something.

Sorry for the late reply, it happens occasionally, mainly when I navigate through keyboard to 2-3 directories with many files.

The condition to happen is this: When I start typing the folder that I want to navigate AND a file’s name in the current folder is matched (with the name of the folder that I am typing) then the image retains the last name that matched.

The list will always have the same horizon position as the toolbar, so moving buttons won’t help. You can try to go to Listary Options - By Window Type - Select xplorer2, Change toolbar position to “Relative to window”. This will help a little.

But I will lose my personalized “Smart Commands” after the reset.

I just made some changes that both your favorites and commands will be kept when you click the “Reset Menus” button. Please wait for the next version.

Do you mean mouse scroll wheel or the big up/down scroll arrow in Listary 3?

And another thing: After deleting all the characters of the search box the list is still visible and it seems like Listary is trying to load something.

Does this always happen or happen occasionally? Could you please upload an image for it? Thanks.

@miked

Thanks for the information. I’m working on it.

The up/down scroll arrow (At the top of the list/In the bottom of the list) in Listary 3 because as I know the mouse scroll wheel does not work by now.

Does this always happen or happen occasionally? Could you please upload an image for it? Thanks.

You can see the “clock” on the right of “desktop.ini” file.

The previous thing happens to me too when the context menu (right key) of a file/folder is displayed and I try to re-display the file list by the use of backspace key. Would not it be a better option to give the go back feature to the left key instead of using the backspace key in this case?

I found another minor bug in dual panel file managers (Tested with Xplorer2 and xyplorer)

  1. Start a search in one panel.

  2. Click on the second panel (Listary toolbar will be moved to this panel)

  3. Click again the first panel.

This is by design. Listary is doing some heavy search in background.

Try ESC key.

Confirmed. I’ll fix it in next version.

But there is nothing to search. The search box is empty.
I waited for more than half an hour and the “clock” did not disappear.

Sorry maybe I did not explain myself properly. ESC key hides Listary toolbar but I want to go back to the previous Listary’s file list.

For example:

I search “listary” in Listary folder and I press Right key when “listary_log.log” is selected
1
2

Now I go to “WinRAR” in the context menu section

3

I press backspace key to go back to image 2.

But if I press backspace key again to display the previously filtered files … I do not end in image 1 but in the following one (Here appears the “clock” problem I reported).

4

I am trying to replace the lack of right mouse click (Context Menu) functionality with Listary Actions. The only thing I will miss in Listary is the drag and drop with right mouse button pressed to extract compressed files to a specific folder.

The problem persists in the final version of Listary.

I thought recent file list, opacity and some other options will be implemented in the final version. There is no option to add new entries in the By Application section.

And another issue with xplorer2: The Right key (Actions) is useless with List section but works perfectly with Path and Fuzzy Navigation ones.

I can reproduce this bug now. It’ll be fixed in the next version.

Sorry maybe I did not explain myself properly. ESC key hides Listary toolbar but I want to go back to the previous Listary’s file list.

Thanks for the screenshots, I get it now. In the current version your previous search term is not saved. Added this to my to-do list.

Sorry that the final version had already been packed by the time I replied. A new version will be released within a few days. The fix is guaranteed to be included.

Recent file list is still there, but you can no longer edit it directly. Opacity may be added back in version 4.1 with Skin feature.

There is no option to add new entries in the By Application section.

It has been permanently removed. Functionality in the By Application tab is being moved to Listary toolbar so you can use them directly instead of having to add an application by path first.

And another issue with xplorer2: The Right key (Actions) is useless with List section but works perfectly with Path and Fuzzy Navigation ones.

This is a known issue. Listary is only able to get the file names instead of the file paths required by Actions for entries in the List section. I’m still working on this one.
