Without the hotkey for the popup menu I can not live Please provide again.
Thank you for this great update.
Iāll consider it. May I ask why you favor it so much? If youāre going to click a popup menu entry using mouse, why not just activate the menu using mouse double click or middle click directly? This approach should be faster. If you use keyboard, Win + S and toolbar search is the way to go.
Activating the popup menu using hotkey and then use mouse to click an entry looks a little weird to me nowā¦
I do not have to use the mouse, the up and down arrows do the job very well in favorites popup. Actually I donāt even touch the mouse when I use listary. Its the same with the toolbar popup, I just hitting the hotkey and then press the down arrow, or even better the corresponding first letter.
As miked, I use the keyboard to navigate that popup. Mainly by accelerator keys (the letter / number with the underscore).
Iām just very used to this method hence the wish to be able to invoke it by a hotkey.
I use it quite differently: the app āStrokeItā makes it possible to get the popup open at any point (!) of the screen with a mouse gesture. And for that I need a hotkey, I must never release the mouse.
āMiddle clickā with Logitech Anywhere MX is no fun and āDouble clickā only works with Desktop and Explorer. That is reason why it is so important for me.
Thanks so much.
When I try to save an image from firefox, the save image window opens, then I press the hotkey, the listary gets active, then I type something like āvariousā to navigate to the folder of my choice. Unfortunately the file name also changes, as it follows some of the listary predictions. Is it possible to change that? I navigate very quickly to the folder that I want to save, but the file name has been changed to the closest file name to āvariousā that found in the initial directory of save image window that firefox opens.
hi all
my questions:
- listary not seach in my directory project (see the image - 1)
- listary use funny matching even if disabled (see the image - 2)
- how can i disabled search in c:\ but not in c:\tmp ?
- how can i open another window explorer when listary is open in one of them?
- imho, listary should not close when all letters are deleted: if you press backspace again listary turn off itself and - if listary is open on a web page - the browser goes to previous page.
āclose listary on backspaceā could be an interesting option
many thanks!
listary not seach in my directory project (see the image - 1)
Sorry that Projects and Disk Search only support NTFS fixed drives (i.e. not a removable drive). Please let me know if this is not the case.

This is Fuzzy Navigation, not the same as fuzzy matching. Iāll add an option for it in future versions.
how can i disabled search in c:\ but not in c:\tmp ?
Sorry that this is not possibleā¦

Type Win + S twice, and Listary will jump to the middle of your monitor. You can then search something and itāll be opened in a new Explorer window.

Sorry that I donāt quite get this one. Just donāt press too many backspaces If you want to delete many letters, you can press Esc and start over again.
Hello Channing,
Featurerequest (Missing Windows standard functionality)
In the Listary settings for example in the Projects settings it isnāt possible to jump from entry to entry, from button to button with the Tab key, also backwards with Shift-Tab. Tab Key in a text box produces an unmeant cursor jump in it.
Yours Olaf
Hello Olaf,
The buttons, text boxes, etc., in Listary Options dialog are not standard Windows controls, they are drawn āby handā. Itās complex to support Tab navigation, and in most cases you donāt need to use Listary Options dialog. Sorry that I wonāt add this
Thanks for Xnview support. But thereās a small problem, the files are not selected in Xnview when you select an image with Listary.
After Installation of Vers. 1127 or Vers. 1132 many strange things happen on my PC (german Windows 7 pro SP1), I use the hotkey for the popup (WIN + k):
- writing any letters (eg. with the email software) opens other programs (it seems that continuously hotkeys would be released)
- some general Hotkeys doesnāt work anymore, eg. STRG+SHIFT+ESC
- After a while the use of the keyboard is no longer possible
I have to terminate listary, afterwards everything functions again perfectly.
Tell me, if you need more information.
Iām sorry for the inconvenience. Please send your UserData\Preferences.json to support@listary.com Iāll look into it.
You can also try to exit Listary, rename UserData\Preferences.json to something else, then start Listary again. This will allow a clean start of Listary. If the problem still exists, then something is wrong with Listary itself, otherwise some settings are broken.
Thanks for the new beta.
I have some requests (Sorry if this was already discussed):
-Could it be possible to customize the size of the toolbar? I prefer the size of the previous version. This one is really big and hides xplorer2ās file list completely when it is in a small window in dual panel mode.
-Could it be possible to move the toolbar buttons to the left side of the bar?
-Could the default menu buttons be recovered when they are deleted? They are not in the ā+ā menu. (For example: If you delete the Tutorial button from the Tray menu then there is no easy way of recovering it.
-Will List, Path and Fizzy Navigation sections of the search be expanded with a mouse click in the final version? I miss the scroll option too but I know that we are still in a beta version.
Greetings

I agree. It can be quite intrusive.

Not at this moment. A smaller window cannot display enough information (like the full paths of disk search results).

No. If you want to use mouse to click them, there are some better ways:
- Use mouse middle click menu directly instead of using the toolbar.
- Assign hotkeys to the buttons.
-Could the default menu buttons be recovered when they are deleted? They are not in the ā+ā menu. (For example: If you delete the Tutorial button from the Tray menu then there is no easy way of recovering it.
Yes. Go to Listary Options - Menus, click āReset Menusā on top (next to the dropdown menu).

No. I personally donāt like to mix keyboard search with mouse clicks. You can use the following hotkeys:
- Up/Tab/Down: Select next/previous item
- Shift + Up/Down: Select next/previous section
- Page Up/Down

Hi sorry to bring this up again, but the new version shows a similar behavior.
I try to save an image from firefox > try to change folder by typing the folder that I want > the image that is to be saved takes a name from a picture of the initial directory that firefox opens and the original name is discarded.
