Turn on file Preview by default?

Is it possible to turn on the file “Preview” (Alt+P shortcut) by default and always have it show? I haven’t seen an option for it anywhere

Currently no, there is no entry for it in Preferences.json
I don’t need a preview all the time,
it makes no sense for just switching a dir or open an app.
