I would love to see thumbnails preview in the dropdown list (on mouse hover or maybe just instead of icons or any other way you thing is the best it will save time looking for the right picture)

Thanks for your suggestion. There will be a file info panel that can show the thumbnail and other basic file info like size, date, etc.

Any updates on this? I too would love to see thumbnails in the search results! Searching for images is difficult if you have more than one with similar names
Nevermind, I found it, have to press Alt+P 
It would be really nice if the actual file icons would show the thumbnail. I use listary a lot for finding symbols (SVG files) and it would be much faster to choose them if they display in the list as well

That would be something–seeing the images as small thumbs in the search dropdown.
