Ruin my life? Folders with _

Listary is an excellent program; I totally depend upon it. Trying the latest beta version, I notice a particular change. I am in the habit, on my Windows 7 64 system, of using the underscore _ character to move certain frequently used subfolders to the top of a folder. This is important to me. Listary 3.x shows such subfolders nicely at the top of their folders, like Explorer does. Using the new Listary 4 beta, to my dismay, I find these folders at the bottom.

This change for me is horrible. Please tell me it will not be permanent!!

Thanks! LN

Hello,

Sorry for the inconvenience. I haven’t written the sorting part yet. This is not an intentional change.

Channing,

Thanks. This is good news! LN

This sorting issue, for me anyhow, remains. The ascending sort order in Windows Explorer sorts the underscore (_) before numbers. Listary sorts numbers before the underscore. This for me is a hassle, making it hard to find stuff.

Any chance we can get Listary to sort things in the same way as Windows Explorer?

Listary now sorts search results based on the similarity between your search query and the file name. File name itself is not taken into account.

I’m not talking about search results; I’m looking at the order in which folders are displayed when one’s mouse pointer hovers over a favorite folder in the Favorite list.

I’ve just fixed it. Please wait patiently for the next release.

Excellent! Many thanks. Sorry for the “ruin my life” hyperbole!
