I’m a long-time Listary user so I’m fully committed to it. But I get repeated hangs and crashes using 6.3.1.81 and I wonder if I’m alone in this experience.
It happens on two different Win11 laptops, both fast machines. The hang if I load other programs - and stays stalled even after I quit them. Then I have to manually exit the main program and Listary service through Task Manager and restart using Windows start manager, which defeats the point of using Listary. Memory load is never more than 50% on CPU or disk.
Again, this may be unusual since it’s not been reported for a while - but it’s happening often enough that I decided to post here.
It’s taken a while to get the problem to reproduce - which is Listary hanging unexpectedly, then having to be restarted from scratch.
You asked for a screenshot but I get this error message on a small png upload, so I can’t show you:
To answer your specific questions:
I am not using Windows IME
Yes, I am using Windows 11 version 24H2
It happens randomly. Best guess is that it’s often after opening a browser or having several apps open together. This despite a CPU load of only 7% and Max RAM load of 60%.
Two things may help you to know:
I can still use Windows search. Also, if I load Everything search separately, on the same CPU/RAM load, this runs without difficulty.
It’s possible that my VPN, Surfshark, may contribute to the Listary hang even when it’s inactive/running in the background.
Whatever: when Listary stops it has to be completely unloaded, using Windows’ task manager, and reloaded from scratch.
