Icon highlighting on desktop as you type

I could swear that when I first started using Listary, that as you typed, that the highlighted item in the results list was also selected on the desktop.
Now it does not seem to be.
Also(maybe because of this???) when I hit the selected file is no longer launched.
Any ideas???

Hello,

I’ve never seen this bug before. Could you please restart Listary and give it another try?

Does double-clicking in empty area still work on desktop? It should bring up a Listary popup menu.

I have not the same bug, but a related one:

I use a dual monitor setup (same screen resolution) under Windows 7. There are a few icons on the first desktop (left monitor) and none on the right. If I begin to type a few letters from any of the icon names the appropriate icon get’s selected but the list, that is displayed by listary isn’t on the first desktop but on the lower right side of the second desktop. So it’s a dual (or multi) monitor desktop bug…

Used version: 3.51 (Build 819)

Regards,
Highend

Yes, double clicking does work.
The strange thing is, that as I arrow down the list, I see the NAMES of the icons with long file names unhide and appear in front of the icon below them, just as if the were in fact highlighted!
While the not highlighting problem is anoying, the inapility to actually launch the files found is what really hurts!
Is there supposed to be a right click menu for search results? I do not remember, but there is none now. I do not know if that helps.
This is running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit.

Hello Highend,

Sorry that I haven’t found a smart solution for this issue. I have lots of icons scattered over my two monitors. If the results list is locked to one (main) monitor, it would be inconvenient to search icons on the other. But it’s also not a good idea to let the results list jump as you type.

In Listary 4 it’s possible to set Listary toolbar position by window type (including desktop), it should resolve this mostly.

Hello jamesraykenney,

Thanks for the update. Could you please attach a screenshot? You can send it to support@listary.com or upload it to any image sharing website.

Hi Channing,

Sorry that I haven’t found a smart solution for this issue.

No problem at all. I just wanted to mention it.

In Listary 4 it’s possible to set Listary toolbar position by window type (including desktop), it should resolve this mostly.

Sounds great, hope to see a beta soon.

Sorry, I used the blockquote for the quoting but it doesn’t stand out very much so I switched to the code tag

Here is a screenshot.
Sorry for the clutter, but it is my software testing machine.

Yikes!!! Just got back today and realised that I had not hit the Post button!!!

Thank you very much for the screenshot. Could you please paste another one with Listary’s search results list showing?

Sorry for the clutter, but it is my software testing machine.
Just the same as mine :)

Ok, here it is.
