C:\...\Microsoft\Templates appearing in Recent list for Word?

I’m wondering why this folder appears in my “recent” list when I access Word files, along with the actual folder in which the .docx file resides. I’ve tried listing the folder and exact path in the “History Exclude” window, but that has no effect.

Suggestions to eliminate this behavior appreciated. Thanks!

It’s because Word used this folder and added it to the system history database silently.

“History Exclude” won’t delete existing entries. If you clean history, that path should not appear again.

I have cleaned my history and placed C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates in the “History Exclude” window. Seems to have no effect. I still get the path to the Templates folder in my Recent Global display.

I’m using the most recent beta of Listary. Any other suggestions?

This is quite weird.

  1. Do history exclusions work for other folders?
  2. Make sure you added “C:\Users\myusername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates” to the exclusion list as a folder instead of an exclude filter.
