App launcher not working? (only showing files/folders/etc)

I restored my pc and now i don’t get any application results (application launcher), only files and folders.
Maybe some setting got corrupted?
Any ideas?

By the way, I already tried deleting the contents of the listary folder on the %appdata% but i still doesn’t get any apps showing

Normaly Listery works so if you start a search from inside a file manager window.

Thanks for the help.
I´m actually hitting ctrl+ctrl to get into the launcher from anywhere and getting this results.
I also forgot not mention that I´m on the beta version. If i remember correctly, the non beta used to work like this (with no actual app launcher, it was only a file searcher).
Is there any way to completely uninstall listary and install it again?
Is there any setting to customize the app launcher in any way?

Listary is uninstalled as any other program from the control panel.
The settings are stored under
C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Listary\UserProfile\

Unfortunately i’ve tried that and I’m having the same results.
Just for confirmation, typing “notepad” should show the notepad application, right?

I dont even get the notepad.exe of my c:, i got one of a backup/robocopy of my old c drive:

After sending my previous message I realized that listary is not showing any results from my C drive. I’ve tried removing it from the Index menu in settings and then turning it on again. I got a “rebuliding index” but I still got no results from my C drive. Any ideas?

New update on this:
Listary 5 works fine.
Listary 6 doesn’t index my c drive (and thats why I was not getting app results)

Workaround: Adding every folder of my c drive manually. Not very convenient because for some reason my c: results now shows at the end of my results, or I should manuall enter c:\ in the search bar.

Question: Where is the c: index file stored? My guess is that file is corrputed or with some problems on the permission. Hope someone knows how to find that file.

You should also delete the diskindex files.

I’ve already deleted the entire listary folder inside appdata and still have problems.
I just deleted the log and the only diskindex file on that folder (is it normal to have only one for all my drives?).

As soon as I reopened listary a new log had been created with this 2 entries:

How is Listary installed ?
You should have this 4 entries in Task manager

I got the 4 entries:
2022-08-20 09_00_49-Task Manager

I uninstalled Listary 5.
Then installed the lastest Listary 6 beta.

I got all this problem so I uninstalled and deleted the appddata folder.
Reinstalled Listary 5 (Listary171014). It worked fine.
Uninstalled Listary 5.
Reboot.
Installed Listary 6 non beta from the site.

Probably getting to a dead end here, right? Not sure what else to try. Not sure neither if that amount of indexing errors is normal or not.

I just deleted appdata folder en restarted Listary 6. I noticed that I don’t get results from my C drive, but I do get some app results without manually adding my c: folders individually. For example: if i enter “photo” i got the Photo app listed, but not adobe photoshop.

Sorry, I can’t help you further.
I installed version 6 beta a long time ago over the version 5.
After this several updates where made automatically up to the current version
with no problems so far.

Thanks a lot for your help. Its a shame we ended crashing to a wall.
I just installed power toys for launching apps. I’ll keep using Listary for file search.

You are welcome.
I also use Power toys for its File Explorer add-ons.
There is a Everything search tool plugin for the Power toys run.
Everything beats Listary in all searching aspects,

What feature keeps you using listary? Is it the ctrl +g one?

Yes, the Ctrl-G function works fine in my File managers (Total Commander and XYplorer).
I have an Autohotkey script which fully replaces this
so Listary is no longer a real need for me.
As long as it runs silent in the background I’ll still let it run.

Great info. I use autohotkey for several tasks, some of them are launched using a small midi controller (Kork nanoKontrol 2) with a great free software called MIDI Mixer. If you have a spare midi controller, I highly recommend it.

Aside from ctrl+g I use the same function switching to a windows explorer tab and returnin to the open/save dialog box to switch to that folder. Does your autohostkey also works for this? Or only works like the ctrl+g?

May I also ask which of those file explorers you prefer? I´m using windows explorer with QTabBar, but i´m interested in switching if there´s a better option.
By the way, i´ve been looking (but couldnt find) for a file explorer with the ability to show files and folders like in Mac OS: Showing folders and files all together with he ability to expand/collapse any folder showing/hiding its content without leaving the current view. Something like this:

Could you please let me know ff any of your file explorers can do this?
