I set Listary run on statrup, but every time the UAC windows open and I must click to start,
how can i run on startup and not open the UAC windows?
Just check “Start Listary when Windows starts” in Listary Options and Listary will run automatically without popping up the UAC window.
You can also try the beta version here: http://discussions.listary.com/discussion/585
sorry,I do as you , it’s still popping up the UAC window! And it’s not popping up the UAC window before ,I don’t change any setting.
here is my listary_log

Are you using the new beta version?
Note that the UAC window will always pops up if you run Listary manually, but it should not appear when Listary starts with Windows automatically.
yes I use the new beta version both Installer and Portable version has the same problem.
the windows’s words like this “C:\Users\xxxx\Downloads\SoftWare\ListaryPortable\ListaryService.exe”—ipc-client
and in the setting I checked “Start Listary with Windows starts” ,don’t checked “run as administrator”.
It seems that you’re using the portable version. Please try to check “Run as administrator” and see if the UAC notification still pops up when Windows starts.
You don’t need to check “Run as administrator” if you use the installer version.
I check “Run as administrator”,now it’s ok ,thanks!!!
I have the same problem.
I am using Listary portable v4.02.1360 on Win7 64bit under limited Win account.
Prior versions worked OK for me, but with latest two versions UAC always appears when Listary is starting up (does not matter if it’s automatically starting up with Win, or manually started).
I also installed install version of Listary, but it did not work for me (no UAC, but Listary “saw” nothing - no history, nothing…).
Please help if you have any ideas.
I forgot to mention that I cannot check “Run as administrator” - if I check that, Listary stops responding and stays like that so I have to kill the program through Task manager.
I tried now new portable (deleted old one and extracted new one), and it does not work - UAC appears, but Listary does not pick up visited folders at all (neither when started with admin account privileges, nor with limited account privileges).
Here is line from listary_log.
[1030/205703:8,997,638:ERROR:window_impl.cc(56)] Failed to unregister class Listary_WidgetWin_0. Error = 1,412
Any change of option in Options freezes Listary.
The portable version always shows UAC unless you check “Run as administrator” and let it starts with Windows. This is by design.
So we have 3 problems here:
I also installed install version of Listary, but it did not work for me (no UAC, but Listary “saw” nothing - no history, nothing…).
Do other features like disk search work? I suggest you try the latest installer version. Make sure you uncheck “Start Listary when Windows starts” in your current portable version first.
I tried now new portable (deleted old one and extracted new one), and it does not work - UAC appears, but Listary does not pick up visited folders at all (neither when started with admin account privileges, nor with limited account privileges).
The same question: do other features work as expected? It’s normal that Listary can’t track history for a specific application.
Any change of option in Options freezes Listary.
This also happens when you change options in other tabs like Menus?
It works now - with installer version.
I do not know what is the problem with portable version, but it works after following your suggestion to uncheck “Start Listary when Windows starts” in portable version before installing installer version.
Thanks!
Is there any way to make portable version work without triggering UAC?
Thanks! Is there any way to make portable version work without triggering UAC?
I’m afraid it’s impossible.
