Listary UI overlay pops up in Visual Studio "Attach to Process" window

I recently installed Listary on my computer and I noticed that the Listary UI overlay pops up when I am in the “Attach To Process” window in Visual Studio. I don’t think it should happen.

Here are the repro steps:

  • Open Visual Studio.
  • Open the "Attach to Process" window. It is under the Tools menu
  • Type the first letter of the process you want to go to in the list.
  • You should now see the Listary UI overlay (see image below).

It is a bit confusing because Listary is not necessary in the context of that window. I don’t think the Listary UI should show up in this window.

I am using Visual Studio 2010 SP1 running on Windows 7.

Thanks for your feedback.

In fact this is by design. If you’ve been using Listary from the very first version, you would know that Listary was originally created as an extension for Windows default list controls. You can search all list controls using Listary (e.g. in Task Manager). And I do think Listary is helpful here to search through this long process list.

I find the UI a bit confusing in this context but if it is by design I can certainly live with it  I have been using Listary for a couple of weeks now and I can’t imagine not having it installed on my computer.
